The Apple House is a family farm and roadside market selling fresh NC apples, peaches, jams, jellies, and fruit butters. The Owenby family has been farming and growing apples in Edneyville for nearly 60 years. The Apple House, opened 20 years by the late Harold Owenby, is now run by Harold’s son and the current farmer, Greg.
Odell and Gladys Barnwell opened their first apple shed in 1959. It was a small wooden structure that now stands behind the current packing house, and is still in use today. The Barnwell’s make fresh pressed apple cider, pasteurized apple cider, and apple cider vinegar. Throughout the years, Gladys and Odell continued to expand their orchards. They began with a small, 15 acre apple orchard, and now their ancestors manage more than 100 acres, which includes apples, 10 acres of peach orchards, and a large variety of veggies grown each year.

This boutique apple orchard, flower field, and farm store offers a charming mix of seasonal delights. Visitors can pick from a wide variety of apples, including Honeycrisp, Gala, Sweetie, Cameo, Fuji, Evercrisp, Granny Smith, and Pink Lady. The farm also features fresh baked goods, slushies, 100% apple cider, local honey, apple crisp mix, and nostalgic apple cider donuts. Guests are invited to cut their own bouquet from vibrant rows of sunflowers, zinnias, celosia, and globe amaranths. Inside the farm store, you’ll find a curated selection of home décor and gift items, including pillows, lamps, wall art, market bags, candles, and more. Open from September 1 through October 31, the farm welcomes visitors Wednesday through Friday from 12–5pm and Sunday from 11–4pm. On Saturdays, find them at the Greenville Saturday Market from 8am–12pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Owned and operated by a brother-and-sister team, this farm offers a warm, welcoming experience for all ages.

Jeter Mountain Farm is a 400 acre farm has been a family farm since 1967 and opened for U-pick apples in 2020. They offer U-Pick for a large selection of apple varieties, as well as peaches, blueberries, raspberries, elderberries, grapes, flowers & pumpkins. On the farm, you will also find a permanent food truck on-site, the 1813 Smokehouse, which serves a traditional BBQ menu with southern sides; The Jeter Mountain Orchard Coffee House, which serves locally roasted beans and a carefully crafted cup of coffee to enjoy while on the farm; a hard cider tasting room at the Cider Barn that serves six hard ciders on tap, including a special Jeter Mountain Farm original blend, available only at the Jeter Mountain Farm Taproom; as well as a kids play area, wagon rides, live music, and a market that sells apple cider donuts, apple butters, garden salsas, hand made candles, and much more. One of Hendersonville’s few apple orchards that stays open year-round, McConnell Farms grows and sells apples, figs, strawberries, asparagus, sunflowers, tomatoes, ginger, and many other fruits and veggies. They also make their own old fashioned ice cream, apple cider, apple cider donuts, pumpkin donuts, preserves, jellies, jams and salsas all on-site, as well as offer a selection of nursery plants and local eggs. McConnell farms welcomes bus groups, and has a large covered pavilion that is a great place to have a picnic lunch.
At Mountain Fresh Orchards, we grow 17 varieties of apples, including: Honey Crisp, Gala, Jonathan, Shizuka, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Ambrosia, Stayman/Winesap, Granny Smith, Mutsu, Rome Beauty, Arkansas Black, Fuji, Pink Lady, Cameo, Grimes Golden and Jonagold.
Offers U-Pick & We-pick Asian Pears, baked goods made from apples grown on the farm, a wide variety of jams, jellies butters, marmalade, molasses and locally grown honey.
